Period of climbing

The climbing period from beginning of July until beginning of September. It is about from 1st of July until 5-10 of September. The best period for climbing is 15th of July to 30 of August. Base Camp usually working from 1st of July to 5th-10th of September. It means that you can start you climbing anytime in this period. But if there be clients, we can set up Base Camp earlier, and close later.

Organization of the trip

To confirm the trip the sooner the better we will make all necessary formalities. But not later than 1 month before your arrival we will need your passport information from every participant: full name, date of birth, passport number, citizenship, exact dates of the visit.

Program

You will arrive to the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek City. We will meet you at the airport and you will have 1 hour flight to Osh (south of Kyrgyzstan). You will arrive in Osh, our person will meet you there as well. Than next day drive to Alay Valley to Base Camp Achik-Tash and start your climbing. Tax of the airport flying out of Kyrgyzstan $10

Luggage transportation

• During the air flight Bishkek – Osh – Bishkek, it is permitted to have 15 kg of the load. Payment for extra kilos EURO 0,7 per kg
• It is possible to deliver your equipment from Bishkek to Osh by car. Please tell me approximate amount of kilos you have and I will send you the price. We have our office in Osh as well. Our clients used to send their equipment to Osh by car and from Osh to Bishkek as well.

Guides

• If you take into service a local mountain guide on daily basys from the Base Camp to the summit, it will be _______ per day.
• We can provide you with local mountain guide for the whole expedition (what is recommended) who will meet you at the airport of Bishkek and go with you to Base Camp and climbing up to 7134m and back. The price for the guide will be ____for your group for booking the guide beforehand only for you.
• Mountain guide of TST (high level and experience), everything included ____Euro, per group
• You may climb the peak by yourself (with help of the guide) and there is no necessity to join to some bigger group.

Tents

Concerning rent of altitude tents. If you have your altitude tents, bring it with you. If not, we will provide you altitude tents for $6 per day (minimum 10 days). It will be necessary to give a deposit $100 for the tent in the Base Camp.

Gas cartridges

We have 2 camps BC and ABC on 4200. We provide all necessary conditions for living in these camps. We can provide gas cartridges for altitude camps. The gas cartriges will be better to book before, because it is not permitted to take gas to the plane and we make a delivery to the Base Camp at the beginning of the season. We suppose you know approximate amount of gas you will need. The cost of gas cartridges — 7$ per one standard 250 gr (propane-butane)

Altitude food

Concerning altitude food. So, we provide you with food in the Base Camp and Camp on 4200m. We do not provide altitude food (exept expeditions with all high alitude service already included). Usually the climbers use their own altitude food. 10 high altitude meals with a reserve of 4 servings per person for this climb are fine.

Porteres

Concerning porters, the service of porters is not obligatory. It is free choice, some climbers use them, some not that is why, the service of porters is not in the price, it goes for complementary payment. You may discuss the question in the Base Camp directly by arrival. Porters are always available in the BC. The prices are

From 3600m to 4200m – 2 euro per 1 kg
From 4200m to 5300m – 8·euro per 1 kg
From 5300m to 6100m – 15·euro per 1 kg
Higher 6100m··················23·euro per 1 kg

From Base Camp to ABC the luggage is usually carrying by horses.

Vaccination

There is no necessity for any vaccination for traveling in Kyrgyzstan.

Insurance

Concerning insurance. We do not have good insurance service in Kyrgyzstan and all our clients take their insurance from home countries. In emergency cases we call a helicopter. But helicopter evacuation will be provided only if you have insurance. Any other rescue works will be provided for complementary payment.

Political situation

Concerning political situation in Kyrgyzstan now. The political situation is stable and good for travelling. Kyrgyz people are always very freindly for tourists. We are working under Lenin peak for many years, and there are now any problems. Even last 2010 year (when some real trouble happened near Osh there were climbers in our camp from different countries of the world at the August, and everything was fine!

Concerning climbing statistics. A lot depends from weather conditions as well. In a good weather conditions we have about 60% successful climbing.

What is the situation with storing gear at BC and Camp 1? I have read reports of climbers having stuff stolen

There is a free of charge storage room in BC. You can keep there your luggage and Camp's staff will take care about it. But Camp personnel could not be responsible for expensive stuff which you leave in tents, as there are lots of people in BC and they can not be responsible for everyone

Flying to Osh seems the most popular choice for getting to BC, although one company drives directly from Bishkek to BC. Would you recommend this?

- flight to Osh takes about 40min and than we use drive which takes about 8 hours. The drive from Bishkek to Osh takes 2 days, so I think it's easier and faster to take the flight, that's why that option is the most popular one.
